Having been able to resist the Spaniard conquest and influence, the Sagadians along with the other Igorot provinces retained their culture thriving within their everyday lives. The inevitable influences of modernization are fast changing the lives of people in the mountains.Sagada may be visited by a lot of tourists, but their traditions seem undisturbed. A genuine Ecotourism destination.
Display of cultural traditions for tourists is a trend, Sagada seemed not be getting with the flow.
The following are examples of Sagada’s living traditions:
“Begnas” a Community FestivalSenga
Gubbaw
Daw-es
Dangtey
“Pinag-aapoy” All Souls Day
Hanging Coffin Burial
